Certification by a sworn translator

RT Translations provides sworn translation services in various language combinations, helping to prepare documents in accordance with the submission requirements in Estonia and abroad.

When is a sworn translator required?

Sworn translation services are most commonly required for the translation of:

  • birth, marriage and death certificates;

  • educational documents, diplomas and academic transcripts;

  • court documents and other legal documents;

  • contracts and powers of attorney;

  • corporate registration documents;

  • statements and documents issued by public authorities;

  • other documents requiring official certification of their translation.

A sworn translator certifies the accuracy of the translation and assumes responsibility for the translation produced. Such a translation is intended for use in official procedures where certification by a sworn translator is required.

Requirements for documents may vary depending on the country and the authority to which the translation will be submitted. We therefore recommend that, before we begin work, you specify in which country and to which authority the document will be submitted. This will enable us to offer the most appropriate type of translation and certification.
